Technology Manager
With 17 years of experience in technology and integrated systems, Shane Beckett is Acetek’s Technology Manager, responsible for ensuring the right technology is selected, deployed, secured and supported across complex customer environments.
Shane works across healthcare, aged care and senior living environments, coordinating the technology and technical teams behind the deployment of nurse call, network infrastructure, CCTV, access control, security systems and associated server environments.
Taking a practical, hands-on and solutions-focused approach, Shane works closely with customers to understand their operational requirements and develop technology solutions that are reliable, secure, scalable and suited to the way their organisation operates. He remains involved from design and technology selection through to implementation, ensuring solutions are practical and can be successfully delivered in real-world environments.
His role also includes helping customers plan for the future through technology roadmaps that consider system upgrades, cybersecurity requirements and evolving technology needs.
Healthcare Technology Experience
One of the significant projects Shane has been involved in is the nurse call system design and technology planning for the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital redevelopment.
His involvement includes considering the requirements of a large-scale healthcare environment, with a focus on system reliability, uptime, scalability, cybersecurity compliance, ongoing patching and future operational requirements.
Shane sees technology as an important tool for creating safer and more effective care environments. He believes well-designed systems should support frontline staff by improving communication, reducing manual tasks, increasing visibility and helping teams respond more effectively when assistance is required.
For Shane, technology should support the people delivering care, giving them reliable systems and better information when they need it.

Outside of work, Shane enjoys mowing lawns. After a day of technology deployments, patching and troubleshooting, he appreciates straight lines, freshly cut grass and a machine that doesn’t require a reboot or firmware update.
